History

In 1990, Belo Horizonte City / Minas Gerais State – Brazil, Teknisa’s founders were requested to provide computer systems for several business fields, thus leading to the beginning of an outsourcing-oriented enterprise. Among the several systems that were initially developed, there was an enrollment controller for the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a hotel sector-oriented software.

In 1991, the food management software TecFood was made available for its first client without a copyright contract. It was developed by means of the integration between Wilson Lima de Paula and George Lima de Paula. They had carried out researches in the Food Service Industry and found out there was a lack of specific management systems for that segment.
From that moment Teknisa was established and its name emerged from the link of words Information Technology and Automation Systems (Tecnologia em Informática and Sistemas de Automação). At the same time, Teknisa launched its first product to be largely traded and distributed: TecFood.

After achieving success in the brazilian market, Teknisa was demanded to serve other markets and to offer complete solutions to clients. Hence, Teknisa launched, in 1999, the software Agent2b – a versatile and modular corporative management system with the ERP technology that supports all departments within an enterprise.

With the great success in Brazil, Teknisa started to extend over Latin America. Chile was the first country where our software TecFood was used, in 2000. Its advantages were easily noted by other comapanies of the sector and, in just five years, Teknisa became leader in the market of that region.

In the middle of the year 2000, Teknisa launched its WEB version – even before other software companies did - with a foresight in what is, today, a need in the market.
